The Good Shepherd (Sermon Link)

For those at our morning service today, John mentioned a story and link during the sermon on Psalm 23:

Two young women had a great assurance of [God's presence] in January 1681 in Edinburgh. They had been imprisoned for their protestant faith and one day were led out to be hanged. As they made their way to the scaffold they sang the words of [Psalm 23] to comfort and encourage each other with their hope in God.
"I will fear no evil, for you are with me."

Each one of us needs that strength of conviction and trust in the Lord - that no matter what comes your way, the Lord is with you.

'Genesis: The Missing Link' this Sunday

'Genesis: The Missing Link' this Sunday

The 'GENESIS: The Missing Link' presentation is this Sunday night!, starting at 6pm.
Remember to come along, and invite anyone you think may be interested in hearing about these issues. Here's some brief info about the presenter, Dr David Catchpoole, from www.creation.com:

David was once an ardent atheistic evolutionist, before being challenged to look critically at the problems of evolution, and the scientific evidence for creation and the Bible.

He now works full-time for Creation Ministries International (CMI) in Brisbane, Australia and is a popular speaker having lectured all over Australia and across the world. He has spoken widely on the issues of creation, in particular their importance to evangelism.

Easter 2010 at WCRC

Easter 2010 at WCRC

"Before we can begin to see the cross as something done for us, we have to see it as something done by us." - John Stott.

Easter is a big time for Christians. It's the day we celebrate and remember God's saving work in sending Jesus to die for our sins, and Jesus' victorious rise from the grave to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

In the book 'Death By Love', the authors list some of what Jesus achieved through his death and resurrection. He is our Christus Victor, Redemption, New Covenant Sacrifice, Gift Righteousness, Justification, Propitiation, Expiation, Ransom, Christus Exemplar, Reconciliation and Revelation.
